OAKOKHO — অআকখ — is dedicated to keeping the Assamese language, culture, and traditions alive for students and families across the world. Through structured classes, cultural programs, and community events, we connect the diaspora to their roots.
Thousands of Assamese families across the world face a quiet challenge: their children grow up far from the land, language, and customs that define their identity.
OAKOKHO bridges that gap. We offer structured Assamese language classes, celebrate traditional festivals like Bihu, share stories, songs, and literature — everything it takes to keep a culture vibrant across generations and across oceans.
Structured Assamese reading, writing, and speaking for all age groups — beginner through advanced.
Bihu celebrations, traditional music, dance, storytelling, and art that keep our heritage alive.
Gatherings, workshops, and virtual meetups that connect the global Assamese diaspora.
Structured learning and cultural enrichment for every age group
12-week Assamese language course for children and beginners. Spring 2026 session — every Sunday at 1:00 PM EST.

Voices of the families we serve
I would like to take a moment to thank Chiranjit for this outstanding initiative. During the early phases of the pandemic, my son, Luit, enrolled into his Assamese learning sessions. Though he spoke Assamese in home, he couldn't read or write the language. With the help of this structured curriculum, my son is now able to read, write and fluently speak in Assamese. The course included Assamese folk tales, which also taught my son a lot about Assamese culture. We are sincerely thankful for Chiranjit's program that teaches our youth about the beautiful Assamese language and the culture.
OAKOKHO has been instrumental in helping our children connect with their Assamese heritage. The online classes are engaging, and our kids look forward to learning every week.
I'm incredibly grateful and happy for the outstanding Assamese language education that my child has received under the guidance of Chiranjit Bordoloi at OAKOKHO. Chiranjit goes beyond traditional teaching methods, making learning Assamese enjoyable and engaging for the students. He is very supportive, patient and always encourages his students. His passion for teaching the language is commendable. The website is very well designed and has many interesting and interactive study materials for students to explore. My son has not only improved his language skills, but has also developed a genuine interest in Assamese culture. I'm very pleased with the positive impact Chiranjit has had on my child's language education.
