President & Founder
FounderChiranjit Bordoloi bridges the worlds of high-tech engineering and cultural preservation. A professional engineer with over 20 years of leadership in the aerospace and defense sectors, he applies the same strategic precision to his mission of empowering the Assamese diaspora. As the founder of OAKOKHO, Chiranjit has built a vital digital bridge for the next generation, transforming how the Assamese language is taught and preserved through innovative web platforms and interactive learning. A former President of the Assam Association of North America (AANA), his work is defined by a commitment to community building—whether he is mentoring students, organizing cultural conventions, or producing live music. With an M.S. from Oakland University and a B.E. from Gauhati University, Chiranjit remains a dedicated advocate for the fusion of technical excellence and cultural heritage.

StaffAnjori Dutta stands at the intersection of cultural stewardship and organizational leadership as a Director of OAKOKHO. Dedicated to the modern preservation of Assamese identity, she plays a vital role in steering the platform’s mission to digitize and protect linguistic heritage. Her leadership is instrumental in expanding OAKOKHO’s reach, ensuring that Assamese literature, music, and educational resources are accessible to a global audience. By focusing on sustainable digital infrastructure, Anjori helps create a lasting repository that empowers the diaspora and connects future generations to their cultural roots.

StaffNaba Pratim Das bridges the worlds of traditional fine arts and modern digital storytelling. An accomplished artist and writer with over 20 years of experience in illustration and editorial leadership. He applies the same creative precision to his mission of preserving cultural heritage through visual media. As a Lead Digital Illustrator and Creator for OAKOKHO, Naba has built a vital visual bridge for the next generation, transforming how language and culture are taught through engaging illustrations and interactive learning materials. A celebrated figure in the literary community. His work is defined by a commitment to education and social awareness—whether he is designing children’s books, creating comics for UNICEF, or showcasing his work in international art festivals. With a B.FA. and a B.Sc. from Gauhati University, Naba remains a dedicated advocate for the fusion of artistic excellence and educational empowerment.

StaffDr. Hemashree Bordoloi is a leading academic and a core driver of OAKOKHO’s outreach and institutional partnerships. An Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU), she brings over a decade of expertise in bioelectronics and soft computing to the mission of cultural preservation. As a vital link between the academic sphere and community initiatives, Hemashree facilitates strategic collaborations that amplify OAKOKHO’s impact across Northeast India. Her work is defined by a commitment to social responsibility—whether leading student innovation at ADBU or coordinating outreach programs that bring digital literacy and linguistic heritage to the forefront of modern education.

Yes! As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we offer most of our language classes free of charge. We rely on donations to continue providing quality education to our community.

Yes! While our primary focus is children, we also offer programs for adults who want to learn or reconnect with the Assamese language and culture.
Most of our classes are conducted online via video conferencing, making them accessible to students across North America. Some special events may be held in-person in Michigan.
